Adult Class Instructor Callen’s friends call him Cally :) He is a functional ceramic artist who has been at the wheel for 5 years, focusing primarily in tableware. Originally from Chicago, he is now based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Callen is a a ceramic artist whose practice melds experimentation with precision. He tries to push the boundaries by exploring new textures, shapes, and glaze combinations while still maintaining functionality in every piece. His signature look includes bright colors, satin glazes, and raw textures. Wheel throwing is his specialty since it allows him to prioritize consistency while maintaining a handcrafted quality throughout each piece. Youth Class Instructor Jocelyn is a Bay Area native and a multiple subject credentialed teacher. She has spent a total of 8 years in education with 7 years as a teacher in various school districts in the Bay Area. She has worked with TK to 6th grade students. Her first experience with clay was a youth two week summer course by the City of Sunnyvale. Next, she spent two years at Fremont High School in their Ceramics class. She returned to clay two years ago and hasn't looked back.
