Beginner potter's wheel

18+

Come on in and learn the fundamentals of throwing on the wheel. The basics are taught and reinforced to demystify the challenges of the wheel. Skills will be introduced with plenty of individual attention in this small class setting. Students are given complimentary access to one Open Studio session per week throughout the duration of the session for which they are registered. Please bring your own apron, towel or clothing that can get muddy. Materials fee $30

For Potters who are comfortable with successfully centering and throwing basic forms. Using those foundations we will be exploring different forms and functional pottery pieces. In this project-based class, we will explore various building techniques. Discussions will include appropriate clay body selections and finishing styles for each. An intro to Pottery for One or Two. In this 2 hour intensive we will make 2 items on the pottery wheel and try out the slab roller for some relaxing handbuilding. You will choose your glaze finish and your pieces will be ready for pick up in 2-3 weeks. Please bring an apron, towel or clothing that can get muddy.
